OVERVIEW

Once a mighty maritime republic and rival of Venice, Genoa is perhaps one of Italy’s most overlooked cities and certainly merits a visit! Its long history as a seafaring city continues today, being Italy’s largest port. It boasts one of the largest medieval historic centers in Europe. The cherry on top? It’s the birthplace of famous explorer Christopher Columbus.
