DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Etna, in a near continuous state of eruption for about half a million years, has the longest written record of activity for any volcano: its first recorded eruption dating back to 425 B.C. This fiery mountain’s activity has brought fertility to the surrounding slopes where grapes for wine, citrus and olives are cultivated in the rich and particular soil. You’ll visit the slopes of this UNESCO World Heritage site to admire its atmospheric landscape.

Next, a return to earth, sort of, with a visit to Taormina, a town perched on a mountainside. Stroll the winding ancient streets, take in the stunning views from the main square, visit landmarks or sample a Sicilian delicacy on your visit to this charming town.
