About Shane:
Shane is a world renowned multi-instrumentalist, frontman of the Irish Music supergroup ‘Socks in the Frying Pan’ and winner of a plethora of awards as a musician and entertainer. His onstage wit has captivated audiences the world around, in 48 US states and across every continent. When not performing, the two time winner of ‘World Accordion Player Of The Year’ spends his time between the rugged and charming west coast of Ireland and beautiful ancient Florence, Italy.
A love of showing friends new places, a deep love of Italy-it’s culture and traditions, combined with extensive experience taking sold out tour groups around his native Ireland with ‘Socks’, meant branching into showing new friends his adopted city of Florence and Tuscany was the obvious next adventure for Shane.

-Oct. 22nd 2025- Arrival at Florence or Pisa airport- Private coach and tour manager for transfer to Florence. Check in at the hotel and time to freshen up.
Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance and the Italian capital of art. Set along the Arno River, ringed by hills and dominated by Brunelleschi's cupola, the city holds a treasure trove of art. It also boasts architectural styles ranging from Romanesque and Baroque to Rococo and beyond in its historic center, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

Oct. 24th 2025- Private coach and tour manager for full day in the Chianti wine region. Guided tour with tasting and lunch of the Verrazzano Castle. Afternoon visit of Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti.
The “Classico” area is Chianti’s historic heart. You’ll travel the old Chianti road, wending through the hilly Tuscan countryside amid vineyards and olive groves. You’ll have the opportunity to stop for photographs of this famous and spectacular landscape throughout your trip.
You will experience the renowned Chianti wine, we’ll take you to the well regarded winery Castello di Verrazzano where you’ll enjoy a guided visit of the estate and cellars along with a wine tasting and lunch.

Oct. 25th 2025- Private coach and tour manager for morning visit of Siena including the Cathedral. Guided tour of the city. Afternoon visit of San Gimignano.
Siena’s architecture reflects its glorious past. Piazza del Campo is considered one of Europe’s greatest medieval squares. In this square, home to Siena’s famous Palio horse race, are found such architectural gems as the Palazzo del Popolo, Mangia Tower and Gaia Fountain.
You’ll discover surprising and delightful views as you make your way to Siena’s impressive Romanesque-Gothic cathedral; one of Italy’s most beautiful.
Passing through the famous Tuscan countryside, dotted with cypresses, vineyards & olive groves, you’ll arrive at San Gimignano; sometimes called the “Manhattan of Tuscany” for the towers defining its skyline.
In this town, which has largely retained its feudal atmosphere and appearance, you’ll enjoy discovering the sights like Piazza della Cisterna and the many artisans’ shops for which the town is known.

Oct. 26th 2025- Private coach and tour manager for morning visit of Lucca. Guided tour of the city including the Cathedral. Late afternoon winery tour with tasting and dinner at a local farmhouse.
Lucca was an independent republic to rival that of Venice for over 500 years. Renowned for its silk cloth, Lucca became rich through the silk trade. It was conquered by Napoleon who gave it to his sister Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi to rule over as “Princess of Piombino and Lucca”.

Lucca is famous as the birthplace of composer Giacomo Puccini who wrote operas such as La Bohème and also for its protective walls. Demilitarized in the early 19th century, a wide promenade was created atop the walls. Each of the 4 sides is planted with a different species of tree. Today, it’s a favorite place to walk, cycle or simply sit.
Next you’ll visit a winery in the Tuscan countryside for a guided visit of their vineyards & olive groves to learn about wine and extra virgin olive oil production. After the visit, you’ll enjoy a dinner of typical Tuscan specialties, paired with their own wines.

Oct. 27th 2025- Private coach and tour manager for full day tour of the Cinque Terre. Boat or train rides included (depending on the weather) to reach the villages.
The Cinque Terre or “Five Lands” consists of the towns: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare. Each has its own personality and particularity. Historically, these once isolated towns were connected only via footpaths winding through the hills or the sea. The area only became accessible to the outside world with the arrival of the railroad line in the late 1800’s.
It’s this isolation that helped to preserve the character & beauty of the area and of each town. Enjoy a day exploring this special coastline, with its kaleidoscope of color: azure sky, verdant hillsides, grey cliffs, turquoise sea & gaily colored houses. Discover each town’s secrets and singularities; then decide which is your personal favorite.

Oct. 28th 2025- Private coach and tour manager for day tour of the Carrara marble quarries and stop in Pisa to see the leaning tower.
The quarries of Carrara in the Apuan Alps at the extreme north of Tuscany, have been producing marble since Ancient Roman times. This marble has long been prized for its high quality. More recently, these quarries had their “15 seconds of fame” in the opening scenes of the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
You’ll head inland to the marble quarries outside of Carrara which are famous the world over. Marble from this area was used in the construction of the Pantheon in Rome as well as for Michelangelo’s famed masterpiece, The David. It can be found in architecture and works of art throughout the world.
The Piazza dei Miracoli or Square of Miracles in the Tuscan city of Pisa is home to some of Italy’s loveliest monuments and one of its most famous: the Leaning Tower. Laid out upon a verdant field of grass like jewels upon an emerald velvet cushion, are these gems of the Pisan Romanesque architectural style; unique to the Republic of Pisa in its heyday.
You can visit the cathedral’s interior where Galileo Galilei, a native of Pisa, formulated his theory of the pendulum by watching the cathedral lamp’s movements. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the inside the baptistery with its unusual acoustics and to climb the legendary Leaning Tower for beautiful views over the square and the surrounding city.
