D-Day: Pegasus Bridge, Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc
OVERVIEW
Pegasus Bridge was a major objective of Operation Deadstick, part of Operation Tonga in the opening minutes of the invasion of Normandy.
Pointe du Hoc was a point of attack by the Usa Army Ranger assault group during Operation Overlord in World War II.
Omaha Beach was the code name for one of the five sectors of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
We offer you a private customized tour of the most spectacular sights of the D-Day landing beaches with our comfortable and air conditioned Sedan/Van departing from your port of call. You will have a fluent English speaking Driver Guide who will escort you through the discovery of the area.
You will start your private tour from the furthest point, Pointe du Hoc, the American 2nd Rangers Bn site. Later you will stop in Omaha Beach, where the 29th and the 1st Infantry Division landed with 34,000 men and visit the American interpretive centre and cemetery.
You will continue your private tour with a drive to Arromanches (famous "Mulberry B Operation") passing through Longues sur Mer where you can still see five 6" guns in position.
Free time for lunch and shopping.
In the afternoon you will stop in Juno Beach, Sword Beach and Pegasus Bridge.
Time permitting you may visit the Ranville cemetery.
Return to your port of call.
