Portofino, refuge of the rich & famous and noted for the luxurious yachts moored in its natural harbor, has been the summer home to royalty, writers, movie stars and artists, but only became a tourist destination in the 1950’s. This tiny and enchanting village is the gem in the setting of the Portofino Natural Park which protects land and sea areas of this region.

Santa Margherita Ligure is a bit more laid back than its sister Portofino. A larger town with Roman origins, it has a lovely pedestrian historical center with arcaded walkways and narrow streets. Though a tourist destination for both Italians and foreigners, it still retains many of its characteristics as a fishing village and all of its charm.
