Barcelona has the greatest collection of Art Nouveau buildings of any European city; many in a style unique to Catalonia called “Modernisme” which is most famously represented by the architect Antoni Gaudí. Indeed, the majority of Gaudí’s architectural works are found here. Gaudí based his designs on nature in their construction and appearance, developing a highly individualistic, unique style which defies definition. There has been nothing like it; neither before nor since.

Gaudí’s works are easy to spot for their fluid forms and often brightly colored tile decoration. You’ll visit four of his extraordinary creations: from a whimsical home to a sinuous and innovative apartment block; a kaleidoscopic, fanciful park and the main highlight: his unfinished masterpiece, The Sagrada Família church.
